I don’t know how much time I spent pouring over Christmas catalogs when I was a kid, but it was considerable.

I couldn’t wait for them to come in the mail, and then I would lie on the floor marking with a pen the things I wanted, so my parents could easily find them. Not that they ever had to look too hard, as I pointed out what I wanted on a regular basis.

That is a pretty vivid memory I have of growing up around the holidays.

I know everyone has their memories and traditions, but that particular memory is probably not one kids have today.

Gone are the days of large Christmas catalogs.

They became antiquated; too costly and no longer needed by younger generations.
