Big 3s, late free throws give Bulldogs state title

H-LHF comes up big when it counts

Big shots.

Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family made them, and now they rule Class D1.

The Bulldogs made some big 3-pointers and sealed the game in the fourth quarter from the free throw line to down Fremont Bergan 61-46 Saturday in the final at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Freshman Jacob Sjuts hit a long 3 to end the first quarter and then another early in the fourth that went in and out and hung on the rim before falling through.

“I think that was the first time we had the lead in the game. They jumped out on us and had it the entire first quarter until the last 2 seconds,” H-LHF head coach Joe Hesse said.
