Catholic Schools Week celebrated at St. Francis

The Catholic Schools Week committee met numerous times over several months preparing for the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6: Catholic Schools Week.

The theme for this year is Catholic to the Core and the gym lobby was decorated with a poster depicting the theme that was also printed on t-shirts for the year.

Monday began with an allschool Mass celebrated by Father Eric Olsen. After Mass, the students and faculty enjoyed a breakfast of fresh cinnamon rolls, orange juice, and hot chocolate. Father Wayne Pavela handed out “Bible Buddies,” (small stuffed bibles) to each student and faculty member to keep as a remembrance of the week. Later in the morning, the elementary students brought favorite Bible stories to the gym where they were paired with high school students who read and discussed the stories with them. Many of the younger elementary students brought their new Bible Buddies along for the reading.
