Former Veterans Memorial decommissioned

For years, all that stood was a memorial in Heritage Park that listed the names of veterans.

That changed this year when the Humphrey American Legion Post 80 constructed Veterans Park.

The original veterans memorial was decommissioned July 23. It was erected in 1988 in the park by the Humphrey High School shop class taught by Kevin Brandl through the guidance of American legion members Ervin Nissen and John Albers.
