HPS board reorganizes, welcomes Baumgart

The Humphrey Public School Board of Education welcomed a new member while saying goodbye to another. The board reorganized for 2019 at its Jan. 14 meeting. Jenny Baumgart is joining the board, having won the election in the November 2018 Primary Election. Sandy Classen did not seek re-election. She served from 2011-19. The board approved officers as follows: President – Kevin Kallweit Vice president – Ron Zach Secretary – Julie Preister Treasurer – Tim Meyer The board also approved the following committee appointments: Negotiations Committee: Ron Zach, Kevin Kallweit, Julie Preister Transportation/Facilities Committee: Doug Beller, Alan Huettner, Mike Brandl School Imp/Curriculum, Americanism and Staff Relations Committee: Tim Meyer, Jenny Baumgart Budget/Policy Committee: Tim Meyer, Barry Tasa Safety & Wellness Committees: All School Board Members

Joint Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family Cooperative Committee: Ron Zach, Julie Preister, Mike Brandl

The board also authorized Superintendent Greg Sjuts to make application and request reimbursement for all state and federal programs on behalf of the board.
