Humphrey Public working to find science teacher
Humphrey Public School is going to have to get inventive to teach science classes in 2018-19. The board of education heard at its July 8 meeting that it is unlikely the district will have a teacher hired for the first semester.
Superintendent Greg Sjuts told board members he and Principal Brice King are looking at alternatives to fill the vacancy created when James Kriz resigned to take a similar position at East Butler Public School.
“We worked on a plan for distance learning classes with some area schools. I know Brice made a few calls, I talked to three or four schools about this. Right now, I don’t anticipate having a science teacher,” he said.
