The Kellers, owners of Main Street Market in Humphrey, have purchased the Lindsay Cooperative Market, and will take over in May. The deal was announced March 20 during the annual Cooperative Market community meeting. Lindsay Holy Family students celebrated National Ag Day March 19 thanks to Bank of Lindsay, Lindsay Insurance and Elite Realty. Students were treated to breakfast at the bank and insurance office, served by the staff. Sausage, eggs and donuts were served, with the eggs provided by Four Sisters Backyard Farms, located just east and north of Lindsay. Stella (8), Scarlett (6), Eloise (4), and Lydia (15 months) Beller, with supervision from their mother, Summer Beller, have operated since 2021. Democrat photo

The Goldenrod Conference recently released its all conference teams and the St. Francis Flyers and Lady Flyers were well represented. Earning 1st team honors were Nyla Kessler, Isabel Preister and Carson Wessel. Second team honors went to Karly Kessler and Ethan Wieseler. Jayda Krings and Devon Baumgart earned honorable mentioned recognition. Jaixen named student trustee

Gov. Pete Ricketts has appointed Amanda Jaixen, of Platte Center; Konery Klueber ,of Rapid City, S.D.; and Tyler Harms of Falls City, to serve as student trustees on the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees. They will serve a oneyear term (2020-2021 academic year) and represent Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State College students.

“As Chair of the Board of Trustees, it is my honor to welcome the new Student Trustees,” said Gary Bieganski, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “The Trustees value the insight and student perspective these young leaders bring to the Board.”
