Krings ready to head to Taiwan for missionary service

To preach the gospel and serve the poor is the message Kim Krings wants to share. Krings, 2013 Humphrey St. Francis class of 2013, returned to her roots on Tuesday, January 7, to speak to the students and faculty about her upcoming missionary service in Taiwan as a lay Catholic missionary for the Family Missions Company headquartered in Louisiana.

From the moment she stood in front of us Kim showed her excitement and love for serving others and her Faith. She shared with us many amusing stories along with the account of answering her call. Kim had been pondering the idea of becoming a missionary for the longest time, but she never knew if this was God’s plan for her. During a time of reflection and prayer at a bible study she called out to Jesus and Saint Therese of Lisieux to send her a rose as a sign if it she was meant to be a missionary. Moments after her prayers, the bible study leader and close friend asked her to take a look at her new phone background-- which was indeed full of roses. Right then Kim knew the answer to all her questions and decided to answer the call by applying to Family Missions Company.
