Legislature wants more civic lessons in schools
More lessons in civics are on the way for Humphrey Public School students.
Superintendent Greg Sjuts reported on LB399, which is the Americanism bill regarding American history and civic instruction in the classroom. The bill requires a third member be appointed to the Americanism Committee, along with more civics instruction.
Currently, Jenny Baumgart and Tim Meyer serve on the committee, and Julie Preister agreed to join.
