New water tower for Lindsay

Lindsay’s new water tower will be in service later this year. The old water tower was built in 1928, making it 91 years old and a new one long overdue. “We were going to have to put about $200,000 worth of repairs and upkeep into the current one, and so it made sense at this point to do an upgrade,” Village Clerk/ Treasurer John Haynes said. The new water tower will increase the water capacity and increase water pressure for residents. The water tower is being financed through a 30-year state revolving loan. There actually are two parts to the project — the water tower and water lines. The total loan is for $1.2 million. The water tower cost $742,000, and the water line project $458,000. Work started approximately in November 2018, and is expected to be completed in October.
