No change in ag land values

County assessor says values will hold
When farmers get their land valuation notices later this month, there won’t be any surprises.

Tom Placzek, Platte County assessor, said valuations will hold steady from a year ago.

“In Platte County, basically, the valuations have remained stable,” he said. “Some marginal ground has gone down, but there hasn’t been a lot of sales of that. I think, perhaps, this coming year, if we have the same situation commodity prices-wise, you might see a downward trend then, but I don’t think it’s going to be very severe.”
