Schools mindful of Coronavirus

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads, schools are making sure they are addressing it.

Humphrey Public School, St. Francis and Lindsay Holy Family have been making sure they are following guidelines.

Jennifer Dunn, HSF principal said, “St. Francis School has recently experienced a couple weeks straight of students from various grades (however, most concentrated at the elementary level), being diagnosed with influenza, so we are well into the routine of washing hands, using sanitizer, using the elbow to cough into, etc. Students who have been diagnosed have stayed home from school. For the last couple of years, at Mass, the elementary students offer the peace sign as opposed to shaking hands. These are the same type of preventative measures being sug-gested by the Department of Health and Human Services to prevent contacting and spreading the Coronavirus.”
