St. Francis seniors retreat to Camp Luther

Packed in the back of the bus, the senior class made their way to Camp Luther near Schuyler Oct. 14th. Accompanied by Father Wayne Pavela and Tina Schumacher, they celebrated their final class retreat with activities, good food, and an adventure led by their guide Father Wayne. Once they arrived, the students sat around tables playing cards, tossing a ping pong ball into an empty tub, prompting Father Wayne to say, “It does not take much to entertain these guys.”

After being split into groups to read scripture and then create and practice skits that would act out each group’s chosen reading, the seniors positioned themselves around the makeshift altar for the celebration of Mass. As is the usual custom at retreats, for the readings, each group stood in front of the rest of the class to perform their skits.
