St. Francis students March for Life in Washington, D.C.

Over 24 hours spent in a charter bus is not the most enjoyable way to travel, but for five St. Francis students, a sacrifice was made.

Three seniors, Elly Masteller, Leah Podliska, and Erin Pfeifer, and two sophmores, Morgan Pfeifer and Delaney Olmer, made the pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., to participate in the March for Life, a protest against abortion. These students joined other students and chaperones from the Archdiocese of Omaha to fill up 7 buses. The buses departed from their hubs Jan. 21, and returned home Jan. 26.

For three of the St. Francis students, it was their first time making this journey. “Before we left I was excited and a little nervous because it was my first time being on the march. I didn’t know what to expect,” says Leah Podliska.
