The St. Francis junior class attended their junior retreat in Tarnov on Thursday, March 25. This was the final retreat that Father Wayne Pavela will plan for high school students due to his upcoming retirement. The students were encouraged through discussion to recognize the importance of all people no matter our differences, to recognize their own gifts, and treat others and themselves with respect. Kindergarten roundup was March 26 at St. Francis. Kristen Beller set up the morning with a pirate theme and twenty-five boys and girls got to spend the morning “testing the waters” by walking the plank (a balance beam), coloring a picture, and snacking on gold-fish crackers and drinking juice out of a barrel. The morning provides an opportunity for the students to get a feel for the classroom while the parents are given the background information they need before sending their child to kindergarten.
