The RCUT (Restricted U-Turn Crossing) at the intersection of Highways 81/91 is essentially complete. The RCUT has been in use for a few weeks, but recently, striping was added to the right turns and concrete added to the turn-arounds to give vehicles more room to turn. This is an aerial view of the RCUT, showing how traffic flows and the elimination of left turns. For the story on the RCUT, turn to Page 3. Photo by Dan Ellsworth
Vernon Schaecher, age 90, has taught hunter safety for more than 30 years. Over the past 30 years he has taught hunter safety to his son, Dale Schaecher, and grandchildren, including Ashley Sass and now his great-grandchild Cyris Sass, age 12. Gene Werner has also dedicated more than 25 years to teaching hunter safety as well. On Aug. 15, hunter safety field day was completed in Lindsay, teaching all aspects of safety with firearms in real life situations. After all boys passed the field day a blue rock shoot was held to complete the course to give the boys an opportunity to practice aim and proper safety.
