Joseph M. Rickards is the last Union soldier from Platte County to be identified by members of the Last Soldier Project. His gravesite is in Fairview Cemetery in Creston. A bronze star was placed n front of the headstone of Joseph M. Rickards at Fairview Cemetery in Creston. He is the last Union soldier from Platte County to serve in the Civil War.

St. Francis serves up donuts with dads, sons and daughters

December came in sweetly at St. Francis with dads, sons, and daughters sitting down to enjoy donuts and juice together in the gym Dec.1 for the first ever Donuts with Dad.

St. Francis 6th graders take part in food drive

St. Francis students in preschool through sixth grade and their families participated in an early Advent calendar food drive. Each student was assigned to bring in a food item that was delineated on the days of an Advent calendar.
