Brian Paul Kuta passed away unexpectedly in Lincoln. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center, Neb. Vigil was at 7 p.m., Monday, July 24, 2017, McKown Funeral Home in Columbus, Neb. The family received friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home Inurement was in Ss. Patrick/ Joseph Cemetery in Platte Center. Brian Paul Kuta was born Dec. 10, 1965, in Columbus, Neb. to Norbert and Georgia (Anderson) Kuta. He attended District 24 elementary school then graduated with athletic honors from Lakeview High School. Brian was baptized, confirmed, received his First Communion, and served as an altar boy at St. Joseph Church in Platte Center. Brian was selected to play basketball in the second year of the All-Star basketball game after graduation. He attended college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Brian got married in 1986 to Cindy Krause at St. Bonaventure Church. He then raised two children, one son (Sean Kuta) and a daughter (Kasi Fitzgerald). Things in his spare time he enjoyed to do are participate in his bowling and softball league, attending family holidays and events, watching and playing golf, horse racing at Ag Park and State Fair Park, and watching Husker and NFL football. He was employed as a book buyer at Nebraska Book Company. Over the years he also held positions at Pizza Hut in Broken Bow, Neb., and the following companies in Columbus and Schuyler, Neb.: Drive-thru and carryout Pizza Hut, Schuyler Packing Plant, D & L, and Food 4 Less. Brian is survived by: Parents: Norbert and Georgia (Anderson) Kuta of Platte Center, Neb. Brother: Randall (Danea) Kuta of Lincoln, Neb. Brother: Rodger Kuta of Platte Center, Neb. Sister: Denise (Jeff) Soulliere of Columbus, Neb. Son: Sean (Kenie) Kuta of Omaha, Neb. Daughter: Kasi (Jeremy) Fitzgerald of Omaha, Neb. Nephew: Alec (Felicia) Soulliere of Columbus, Neb. Niece: Whitney Kuta of Platte Center, Neb. Great nieces: Brooklyn and Kinsley Soulliere of Columbus, Neb. Granddaughter: Riley Fitzgerald of Omaha, Neb. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by: Grandparents: George and Ruth Anderson and Thomas and Mary Kuta Aunt and Uncle Betty and Jack Kurtenbach of Kearney, Neb.
