The Kellers, owners of Main Street Market in Humphrey, have purchased the Lindsay Cooperative Market, and will take over in May. The deal was announced March 20 during the annual Cooperative Market community meeting. Lindsay Holy Family students celebrated National Ag Day March 19 thanks to Bank of Lindsay, Lindsay Insurance and Elite Realty. Students were treated to breakfast at the bank and insurance office, served by the staff. Sausage, eggs and donuts were served, with the eggs provided by Four Sisters Backyard Farms, located just east and north of Lindsay. Stella (8), Scarlett (6), Eloise (4), and Lydia (15 months) Beller, with supervision from their mother, Summer Beller, have operated since 2021. Democrat photo

The Goldenrod Conference recently released its all conference teams and the St. Francis Flyers and Lady Flyers were well represented. Earning 1st team honors were Nyla Kessler, Isabel Preister and Carson Wessel. Second team honors went to Karly Kessler and Ethan Wieseler. Jayda Krings and Devon Baumgart earned honorable mentioned recognition. Eleanor McPhillips

Eleanor McPhillips, 95, of Lindsay, Neb., died Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her sons home, rural Lindsay.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, and Father Eric Olsen celebrated the Mass. Interment was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, rural Lindsay. Visitation was on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and a 7 p.m. Vigil Service at the church. Visitation continues on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time also at the church. Memorials may be directed to Holy Family Catholic Church or the Lindsay Fire and Rescue Unit.

Eleanor McPhillips was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Humphrey, Neb., to John and Stella (Eisenmenger) Olmer. She graduated from St. Francis Catholic High School in Humphrey, and on Sept. 7, 1943, in a double wedding at St. Francis Catholic Church, married Pascahl “Pat” McPhillips. The couple farmed in the Joliet Township near St. John’s Catholic Church rural Lindsay.
