Jeannette Lloyd, 87, of Columbus, Neb., died Friday, July 21, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 562 17th Ave., in Columbus, Neb. Vigil was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Church and 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in All Saints Cemetery in Columbus. Jeannette E. Lloyd was born May 2, 1930, in Columbus to Frank and Mae (Simon) Haferland. She grew up in rural Humphrey and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School in 1948. On Nov. 10, 1954, Jeannette was united in marriage to Robert E. Lloyd at St. Francis Church in Humphrey. They farmed and lived in the St. Edward area where she worked at the Cloverlodge Care Center. They moved to Columbus in 2002. Jeannette was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Theresa Sodality. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, sporting events of her children, and Husker sports. She is survived by: Daughter: Mary (Todd Prorok) Henke of Columbus, Neb. Son: James (Paula) Lloyd of Columbus, Neb. Daughter: Kathy (Chuck) Sliva of Columbus, Neb. Son: Kevin (Sherri) Lloyd of Plainview, Neb. Son: Russ (fiance Sandy Burkhardt) Lloyd of Lincoln, Neb. Thirteen Grandchildren One Great-grandson Sister Kora Keogh of Phoenix, Ariz. Brother LeRoy Haferland of Westminster, Colo. Brother-in-law Don Lloyd of Rochester, Minn. She is preceded in death by Husband Robert Lloyd Parents Frank and Mae Haferland Grandson Connor Sliva Brothers: Frank, Jr, Simon, Glen, and Arthur Sisters: Zeta, Ruth, Gerri, Esther, Monica, Marge, and Wilma Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
