Jerome Korth

Jerome Korth, age 89, of Columbus, died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation was Tuesday 4-7 p.m. at the church. There was a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Jerome Korth was born Feb. 6, 1930, on the family farm near St. Bernard to Killian and Christina (Schaecher) Korth. He received his education at St. Bernard Catholic School. Jerome entered the United States Navy and served during the Korean War overseas. He married Betty Cramer on Oct. 3, 1955, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. They lived in Omaha until moving to Wakefield where they farmed. In 1965 they moved to the St. Bernard area where they continued to farm until 1979 when they moved into Columbus. Upon his retirement from farming, Jerome owned and operated his own business. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Knight of Columbus and the V.F.W Post #3704. He enjoyed cards, gardening, fishing, Nebraska Football, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and spending time with his family

Son: Rick (Cindy) Korth of Platte Center

Daughter: Nancy Korth of Omaha

Son: Bob Korth of Lincoln

Son: Russ (Patty) Korth of Humphrey

Son: Charles Korth of Columbus

Son: Doug (Maria) Korth of Kansas City

Son: Matt (Jenny) Korth of Juanita

15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, son: John Korth, grandson: Jacob Korth; brothers: Elmer, Frank and Ray; sisters: Phyllis White, Verona White, Moni Senske Palmer, Jeantte Hagen
