Kenneth J. Frisch

Kenneth J. Frisch, 75, of Humphrey, Neb., died May 5, 2017, at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey and burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cornlea, Neb., with Father Patrick A. McLaughlin officiating. Visitations are at St. Francis Church Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Rosary and 7 p.m. Scripture Service and continuing Thursday at 9 a.m. Kenneth was born July 6, 1941, at Rock Island, Ill., the son of Matthew J. and Marie F. (Trainor) Frisch. He attended Sacred Heart School in Cornlea, Humphrey St. Francis School and graduated from Humphrey High School. On Oct. 4, 1969, Kenneth and Joan M. Hemmer were united in marriage at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, Neb. He served in the U.S. Army in 1966 to 1968, a member of the 502nd Military Police Co., 2nd Armored Division. Kenneth drove an 18-wheeler, was a mechanic, maintained gravel roads “rolling rocks,” a member of the Knights of Columbus and a faithful usher at St. Francis Church for many years. He enjoyed driving antique tractors in area parades, golf, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Surviving are his wife Joan, of Humphrey; son Kevin Frisch, of Columbus, Neb.; daughter Jeanette Frisch, of Humphrey, Neb.; and significant other Kevin Klevemann; grandson Andy Frisch; siblings Rosie Goodwin, of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; Tony (Alice) Frisch, of Kokomo, Ind.; Pat Hastreiter and Jim Hastreiter, of Madison, Neb.; Mary (Duane) Behrens, of Columbus, Neb.; Theresa (Johnny) Smith, of Harrisonville, Mo.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Richard (Evelyn) Hemmer, of Humphrey, Neb.; Don (Denise) Hemmer, of Prior Lake, Minn.; Allan (Mary Kay) Hemmer, of Bentonville, AR; Jolene (Dave) Boothby, of Clovis, Calif.; Jane (Roy) Schumacher, of Omaha, Neb.; Peg (Dale) Olmer, of Columbus, Neb.; Sue (Randy) Smith, of Shelby, Neb.; Deb (Jack) Kessler, of Columbus, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by daughter Karla J. Frisch, son Gerard A. Frisch, parents Matthew and Marie Frisch and father and mother-in-law Wilfred and Romana Hemmer. Military graveside ceremony by American Legion and VFW Posts of Humphrey, Neb., and National Guard Honor Guard. Casket bearers are Jay Werner, Randy Eisenmenger, Kenny Backes, Rich Bender, Zane Abner, Matt Krings Wayne Albracht and Jeff Freudenburg. Arrangements by Duseman Funeral Chapel, of Humphrey, Neb.
