St. Francis junior Andrew Kosch, right, shot a 78 and finished as runner up in the Patriot Invite. Freshmen Jacob Keller, left, carded an 86 and earned the 14th place medal. The team shot a 355 which placed them 5th in the 15 team tournament.

Sister Ethel Widhalm

Sister Ethel Widhalm

Sister Ethel Widhalm (formerly Sister Beatine) entered into her eternal life and resurrected glory on Thursday, Nov. 26 at 10:15 p.m. at Mount Saint Francis Nursing Center where she lived since July of 2014. She died peacefully having lived a full earthly life and the beauty of 98 years.

A private Vesper and Wake Service was held in Canticle Chapel at Mount Saint Francis Convent on Monday, November 30th with the Mass of Resurrection celebrated on Tuesday, December 1st in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, followed by burial in the Mount Saint Francis Cemetery.

Sister Ethel (Ethel Theresia) was born on May 6, 1922, in Cornlea, Neb., to Jacob and Katherine (Zuerlein) Widhalm. Seven brothers and six sisters made for one happy industrious farm family.
