Bulldogs fight back to take 3rd at conference

The Humphrey Lindsay Holy Family boys earned third place Saturday in the East Husker Conference Tournament at Midland University in Fremont with a 51-45 win over Logan View/ Scribner-Snyder. The Bulldogs bounced back from a tough loss against North Bend, getting off to a good start against LVSS, leading 14-8 after the first quarter. Both teams struggled to score in the second, with LVSS taking the period 7-6, and the Bulldogs led 20-15 at halftime. The Bulldogs gained some separation in the third, and the lead grew to 33-24 heading tot he fourth. Both teams finally found the shooting touch in the fourth, with LVSS outscoring the Bulldogs 21-18. Jacob Sjuts led the way with 14 points, Tyler Sjuts scored 12, and Jason Sjuts, 11. Jacob hauled in eight rebounds, and Jason had seven.
