St. Francis junior Andrew Kosch, right, shot a 78 and finished as runner up in the Patriot Invite. Freshmen Jacob Keller, left, carded an 86 and earned the 14th place medal. The team shot a 355 which placed them 5th in the 15 team tournament.

Bulldogs overcome slow start to defeat Wisner-Pilger, whip N-O, Summerland

It took the Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family girls a quarter to get started, but after that they dominated Wisner-Pilger winning 58-48 Jan. 14. The Gators led 12-7 after the opening quarter Aspin Waterman and Lindsay Kneifel accounting for 10 points. The second quarter was a completely different story. Behind Allie and Addison Schneider, the Bulldogs outscored Wisner-Pilger 21-4 for a 28-16 halftime lead. They each scored eight points in the period to lead the way. The lead grew to 45-30 after three quarters, and again Allie and Addison led the way as the Bulldogs put the game away. The Bulldogs took their foot off the gas after extending their lead to 49-33 lead after a Brittney Veik bucket. The Gators then outscored the Bulldogs 15-9 to end the game. Veik and Addison led H-LHF with 14 points apiece, Allie scored 13, and Paige Beller had eight, hitting four of seven shots. Allie controlled the boards hauling in 15 and recorded 6 steals, and Addison grabbed 11 boards.
