The Kellers, owners of Main Street Market in Humphrey, have purchased the Lindsay Cooperative Market, and will take over in May. The deal was announced March 20 during the annual Cooperative Market community meeting. Lindsay Holy Family students celebrated National Ag Day March 19 thanks to Bank of Lindsay, Lindsay Insurance and Elite Realty. Students were treated to breakfast at the bank and insurance office, served by the staff. Sausage, eggs and donuts were served, with the eggs provided by Four Sisters Backyard Farms, located just east and north of Lindsay. Stella (8), Scarlett (6), Eloise (4), and Lydia (15 months) Beller, with supervision from their mother, Summer Beller, have operated since 2021. Democrat photo

The Goldenrod Conference recently released its all conference teams and the St. Francis Flyers and Lady Flyers were well represented. Earning 1st team honors were Nyla Kessler, Isabel Preister and Carson Wessel. Second team honors went to Karly Kessler and Ethan Wieseler. Jayda Krings and Devon Baumgart earned honorable mentioned recognition. Flyers open playoffs with rout of Niobrara/Verdigre

Tanner Pfeifer accounted for four touchdowns and Haustyn Forney and Isaac Classen each scored three times as St. Francis opened defense of its Class D-2 state title with a 74-6 first-round win here Thursday.

The Flyers now turn their attention to undefeated Osceola with kickoff slated for 6 p.m. Friday in Humphrey.

The game was over for all intents and purposes after the Flyers put 30 points on the board in the first quarter.
