Jason Sjuts notches 1,000 career points with 34 in win over Madison

Jason Sjuts was unstoppable.

The junior scored 34 points to reach the 1,000 career point mark Thursday as Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family whipped Madison 80-49.

He knew he was close thanks to a friend.

“My friend Dawson Freudenburg is a big MaxPreps (a website for game and player stats) guy, and he was looking the other night. I needed 22, and we played at Bancroft the other night, so if I didn’t get it at Madison I would, hopefully, get it at Bancroft, and all my family was going to be there, so that would have been pretty cool, but I think I had 19 in the first quarter against Madison, so I ended up getting it there,” he said.
