St. Francis junior Andrew Kosch, right, shot a 78 and finished as runner up in the Patriot Invite. Freshmen Jacob Keller, left, carded an 86 and earned the 14th place medal. The team shot a 355 which placed them 5th in the 15 team tournament.

Lady Flyers top Elba in 3 sets

St. Francis started what it hopes is a march to the state tournament with a sweep of Elba Monday night 25-6, 25-6, 25-7 in the first round of the Class D2-4 Subdistrict here.

The Lady Flyers were set to play Riverside Tuesday night with a trip to the district finals at stake.

They were never threatened, taking commanding leads in each set and never letting up.
