Kessler hits game-winner as Defenders top Aquinas 43-42

Nyla Kessler’s shot hit the lip of the rim, bounced up and down through the net.

The senior’s shot from the left baseline with 7 seconds left on the clock, gave the Archangels Defenders a roller coaster win over David City Aquinas 43-42 here Feb. 11.

The Monarchs in-bounded the ball, but Jayda Krings knocked it out of bounds with 03.4 seconds left, so the Monarchs in-bounded again, and Faith Samek’s long jumper was off the mark, completing a comeback that seemed out of reach for Archangels just minutes earlier.
