After 18 years of participating in the Nebraska Golden Sower Reading Program, Julie Huettner decided to start a new reading program.
The Flyer Reading Club launched its first year of building student’s interest in different genres with more Christian and award-winning books and authors.
This program started last spring when Huettner had the former 6 th graders (now 7 th grade) help her with reading books and selecting the top 10 books for the Grades 4-6 program. Same rules apply, as students must read four out of the ten selections and pass the AR test to become a member of the Flyer Reading Club. Grades K-3 book selections are read to them by Huettner in their library classes.
