Creston residents rolled up their sleeves and went to work, making improvements to the ballfield.
Scott Schmidt, who coaches along with Markus Hoesly, said volunteers donated their time and money to make the improvements.
“The whole thing was done by baseball families and city people, and it was done as a group of people associated with baseball and a few town people who helped with grading. It was just a big community project, basically. It was all donated time and labor and materials,” Schmidt said. “It was old school, people got together, put on gloves, and went to work. It’s a small town and small budget, it’s the only way we get things done.”
