Eight turnovers were too much for Humphrey-Lindsay to overcome here Friday night, as the Bulldogs dropped a 78-30 decision to David City.
They split the turnovers evenly, four fumbles and four interceptions.
Head coach Brandon Kirby said the “Turnovers and mistakes in general,” were costly. “You tell them sometimes there’s going to be adversity, and you have to keep grinding. That’s what we said at halftime, that whatever the end of the game was going to be, going into next week a 4-4 record is a whole heckuva lot better than 3-5, and that gives our seniors a finish on that high trajectory. The story of the year is going to be injuries, and having young guys step in. In eight-man football it’s so hard when you have injuries.”
