He didn’t talk much about the military, so I just have a few vague memories of my dad’s time in the Army during WWII.
My wife made a shadow box of some of his dog tags and medals, including a Purple Heart. His discharge papers say he served in the Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations and operated under combat and blackout conditions.
As we prepare to mark Veterans Day, I think back to my dad.
