The Archangels girls broke a two-game skid Saturday, beating Burwell 45-29.
The Defenders were nursing a 20-15 halftime lead, but outscored the Longhorns 12-4 in the third to open up a 32-19 lead heading to the final period, where they sealed the game with a 1310 advantage.
Whitney Wegener accounted for almost half of the Defenders points, scoring 20 and hauling in 9 rebounds. Jayda Krings had 9 points and 6 steals.
