The new keeps getting sadder, until there’s no more news.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette owner Block Communications Inc. (BCI) has announced it will cease publication of the newspaper May 3.
To leave a city and an area as large as that of the greater Pittsburgh area without a newspaper is unfathomable. To think no one will be covering national, state and local government, giving them a free reign to operate in the dark; that there will be no more high school, college and professional sports coverage, editorials will be gone, feature stories on the people who make cities and small towns special will never be heard, and so much more will be lost.
