The Humphrey-Lindsay girls wrestling program is enjoying its inaugural season.
Head coach Jared Wihen said, “Overall the season so far has gone pretty well. One major downfall is we lost freshman Janessa Stewart for the year with a major knee injury so we are down to 2 girls.
“Madelyn Bystrzynski and Emma Preister, are both juniors. Currently, Madelyn has a overall record of 4-14. Madelyn came to practice 2 weeks after we had already started and decided to join the team not knowing anything about wrestling. She placed 4th at Neligh Oakdale. Emma has a current record of 12-10. Emma joined the team after only participating in 3 meets back in 2023 in the youth program. She placed 3rd at Tekamah Herman; 2nd at Plainview; 3rd at Neligh Oakdale and 1st at our conference here last week.
