Shots don't fall for Archangels in loss to Red Cloud

The shots fell for Red Cloud, they rolled around the rim and fell off for Archangels. That was the difference as Red Cloud posted a 38-25 win Saturday morning in the Class D-2 consolation at Lincoln Southeast High School.

“That was a lot of it,” head coach Bryan Reichmuth said of the shooting. “We battled back pretty well, and I was glad the 1-3-1 (defense) worked for us, but we could never find a bucket. We didn’t score enough. Even not shooting well we still had an opportunity in the end, but in the fourth they hit three or four big ones, and we couldn’t find our footing to get our offense going.”

It looked like the Defenders caught a break, trailing just 2521 when Red Cloud’s Avia Rust picked up her fourth foul with 7:39 left in the contest. Three are throws from Whitney Wegener who pulled them to within 2524 with 6:22 to play, but Josie Faimon took over.
