Most counties have commisioners

Of the 93 counties in Nebraska, 20 operate under a supervisory form of government, the rest are led by commissioners.

The Platte County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution Feb. 24 to change from supervisors to commissioners. Voters will decide the issue during the Nov. 3 General Election.

With that decision comes the elimination of townships boards with the Platte County Highway Department taking over maintenance of all roads.
