The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) recently released the Nebraska Cancer Registry Dashboard. This dashboard presents cancer incidence data for Nebraska, including trends, demographics, geographic distribution, and stage at diagnosis. It displays age-adjusted incidence rates, counts, and percentages based on data from the Nebraska Cancer Registry for the years 20002023.
“This data provides valuable insight into the overall health and well-being of Nebraskans. Understanding cancer trends in Nebraska helps guide targeted public health prevention strategies, raise awareness, and improve outcomes for populations at greatest risk,” said Ashley Newmyer, DHHS Public Health Division Director. “This dashboard serves as an essential resource for residents, healthcare providers, researchers, and local health departments, supporting efforts to build healthier individuals, stronger families, and more informed communities across Nebraska.”
The dashboard allows results to be filtered by cancer type, geographic location (state and local health department), and demographic characteristics (age, sex, and race/ ethnicity). Users can combine multiple years of data, examine trends over time, and explore data in charts, tables, and maps.
