On April 13, 2026, at approximately 8:45 PM, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle head on collision on the west edge of Duncan on Highway 30.
The investigation indicated that a 2010 Kia Soul, operated by Lawerence Murphy, 84 of Phillipsburg, KS, had been traveling westbound on Hwy 30 when the vehicle he was driving was driven left of the center line colliding head on with an eastbound 2008 Ford Ranger operated by Jane Noah, 63 of Elm Creek, NE.
Mr. Murphy was transported by Duncan Rescue, with the assistance of Columbus Rescue, to the Columbus Community Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
