The Humphrey Democrat was decorated Saturday evening during the Nebraska Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest Awards Banquet at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in Lincoln.
The newspaper received two first place awards for Claire Wagner’s “How to Cook a Turkey” in the Reader Interaction category, and Patrick Murphy received first for his personal column, Murphy’s Law.
Wagner placed second in the category of Computer Graphics for her design of “Trading Cards,” and in Building Circulation for her advertisement “Where to Get Your News.”
