New interlocal agreement with townships sets to clarify responsibilities

A new interlocal agreement between the county highway department and townships is being worked on.

At a recent Platte County Board of Supervisors meeting the current interlocal agreement was approved to be terminated June 30. Township boards were given a 30-day notice of the termination.

The old interlocal agreement will be replaced with one more specific to the responsibilities of townships and the county when it comes to road maintenance.
