Hear from the minds behind the Archangels Catholic Newspaper
For 45 years, Dean Korus has faithfully served St. Francis, now Archangels Catholic school, wearing out many pairs of sandals along the way. Along with teaching art, he has coached volleyball, basketball, cross country and has been the head varsity track and field coach for most of those 45 years. Before stepping into a classroom, he once thought his future would look very different.
After graduating from Humphrey Public School, Korus attended the seminary with hopes of becoming a priest. Eventually, he realized that path was not the right fit for him and decided to study art at Wayne State College instead. Korus was drawn back to Humphrey, and he began teaching at St. Francis because it was the job offer closest to home.
