City to issue bonds

Water, sewer extended to annexed areas

General Obligation Bonds Water and Sewer Bonds will be issued by the City of Humphrey.

The city council approved the ordinance at its Aug. 17 meeting to issue the bonds not to exceed $1.8 million to finance the cost of constructing water, sewer and related improvements to the city. The project is to extend water and sewer services to the annexed area at a cost of $1.6 million. The cost was $2.9 million, and the city is just financing $1.6 and using property tax and sales tax saved over the last 3 years to pay the rest.
