Juniors Natalie Stock and Kinley Gronenthal led the way for the Bulldogs Thursday at their second opportunity at the Indian Trials Golf Club in Beemer when they faced off in a dual versus West Point-Beemer. Both Stock and Gronenthal, along with Kenadie Lindstrom of WPB, tied for second place honors, shooting 59, behind West Point - Beemer’s Mollie Miller, who shot a 46.
Indian Trails is known for its tough greens and overall difficult holes. This was evidenced on hole 1, a 416 yard par 5 hole, where the low score by a Bulldog was eight, carded by Gronenthal. What makes this such a difficult hole is the out-of-bounds to the right of the hole and a big gully to the left of the fairway. Bulldog golfers played hole 2, a 155 yard par 3, better with Gronenthal managing a bogey on that hole. Stock pulled a bogey on hole 3, the longest par 5 on the front nine. Both Gronenthal and Jessica Preister achieved bogey on hole 7, a 306 yard par 3 with a narrow fairway. Preister also bogeyed hole 8, a 227 yard par 4, despite being one of the most difficult holes on the course.
The Bulldogs tallied 246 total strokes to West Point-Bemmer’s 230.
