The Archangels Defenders were hosted by the Osceola Bulldogs on Friday in a weathershortened game. ACHS was able to score 24 points in each of the first two quarters before lightning made the game unsafe to continue. The game was called in the third quarter with a final score of 48-0.
The Defenders spread the scoring around in the first quarter. Quarterback Ethan Wieseler was able to scamper into the end zone on an 11-yard run for the first score of the game. The two-point conversion was run in by Gavin Geilenkirchen. ACHS continued to score in the first with a 64-yard catch by Tate Wietfeld. This time Wieseler ran in the two-point conversion, bringing the score to 16-0. On the third TD of the first quarter, Geilenkirchen ran it from three yards out. Jett Reichmuth was able to catch the pass to tack on two more on the conversion.
The second quarter continued in much the same fashion. Geilenkirchen scored the next two touchdowns on 51-yard and 39-yard runs. T. Wietfeld scored one of the two-point conversions and brother Cade Wietfeld caught a pass for the other conversion. The final TD of the game was scored by Jameson Small on a 2-yard run, but the last two-point conversion failed. The Defenders were able to make up the missing two points with a Nathan Preister tackle for a safety.
