Sometimes I don’t think people appreciate what they have until they don’t have it anymore.
The McClatchy newspaper chain laid off more than 90 journalists across 17 publications Sept. 10.
Those people are out of work. Some of whom worked at their newspapers for decades. The people out of work represent 30 percent of all union workers at McClatchy, including news outlets such as the Sacramento Bee, the Kansas City Star, the Charlotte Observer, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Miami Herald and others.
