In a field of 49 runners, Erin Kruid was able to medal in seventh place with a time of 21:22.70 at the Tim Dickey Invitational, hosted by Boone Central Schools at the Albion Country Club. Rainy conditions did not slow the Bulldogs, who had several personal records on the day. Also running for Humphrey-Lindsay was Camilla Korus who timed in at 23:54.40.
On the boys side of the race, Klayton Brandl was just out of medal contention, running 18:24.00 and coming in 12th among a field of 98 male runners. Other Bulldogs competing Friday were Jarrett Fittje, 42nd, 20:23.00; Drew Weeder, 46th, 20:31.90; Xander Gronenthal, 56th, 21:08:60; Cooper Gleeson, 89th, 24:30.50; and Logan Petersen, 93rd, 25:47.00.
Coach Joe Hesse said, “The Humphrey Lindsay runners are hitting their stride at the right time. They’re getting PR’s at nearly every meet, which is a testament to the time they’ve put in over the summer and at practices. We look forward to showing everyone what we’ve got as the season ramps up to districts.”
