Humphrey-Lindsay fall to Shelby-RC

Humphrey-Lindsay struggled to gain any momentum in the loss to the Shelby-Rising City Huskies Friday 16-62.

Neither team was able to rely on passing to gain yards due to the wet conditions. Humphrey-Lindsay junior Cash Hastreiter completed just four passes on ten attempts for a total of 26 yards. His primary targets were Layton Pospisil, who caught two passes for a total of 14 yards, and Evan Reichmuth who brought down one pass for 11 yards. Reichmuth also had eight carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. Hastreiter ran in the two point conversion. Pospisil also carried the ball five times for 19 yards.

On defense, Hastreiter was able to haul in one interception and Caleb Kloppenborg recovered a fumble for Humphrey-Lindsay. However, Shelby-Rising City senior Carter Eikmeier was able to run seemingly at will. Eikmeier was able to rack up 236 yards on 13 carries. The Bulldogs did manage 33 total tackles, led by junior Kaden Sueper with two solo and three assisted tackles. Hastreiter chipped in four more tackles, and juniors Logan Wiese and Reichmuth contributed three more apiece. Keith Kirby and Reichmuth combined for one sack.
