“Be still and know I am God” (Psalm 46:10a) encourages believers to pause and recognize the sovereignty of the Lord. This was the theme and focus of the retreat planned by Emma Zobel, campus minister at ACHS.
Zobel was assisted by Molly Wallish and Cecelia Brichacek, campus ministers at Scotus Central Catholic in Columbus; Sr. Mary Jacinta and Sr. Peter Marie, both School Sisters of Christ the King in Lincoln; Kade Wiese; Fr. Zach Tucker, rural vocations director; and Fr. Taylor Leffler, school president and pastor, who combined to form a solid team providing spiritual sustenance for the retreatants.
The day began with Mass celebrated by Fr. Taylor. In his homily, he shared about the life of St. Padre Pio who, like St. Francis of Assisi, received the gift of the stigmata after prayerfully asking for a deeper relationship with Jesus. He encouraged retreatants to develop a relationship with Christ through prayer, but also to listen for His voice.
